Health magazine at library

The Danvers library now carries a new consumer health magazine, "Your Health Now," from the publishers of "The Merck" medical reference books. Merck is providing the magazine as a free resource, with up-to-date, easy-to-read, unbiased health information that does not include product promotion or advertising.

Every issue of Your Health Now also: Answers health questions in the "Ask the Doctors" column; offers information about getting discounted or free medicine in the "Making Medicine Affordable" column; provides health tips and information for your family pet; reviews recent medical research in the "In the News" column.

Your Health Now magazine is available at This site allows people to read the latest issue of Your Health Now magazine and to sign up for a free online subscription.

CPR and First Aid

The American Red Cross of Northeast Massachusetts, 100 Cummings Center, Office Suite 235-E, Beverly, will offer the following classes:

Financial assistance available

VNA Care Network, a nonprofit home health care, hospice and wellness provider, provides stipends to women with breast cancer who need financial assistance for medications, co-payments, transportation to treatment, and other things that will help increase their access to treatment and support their recovery. Women must be residents of eastern or central Massachusetts to qualify. This program is funded by a grant from the Massachusetts Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Nursing home support meeting

Free educational support meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month, 6-7:30 p.m., at Hunt Nursing Home, 90 Lindall St., Danvers.
